The Largemouth Bass stole the show once again this week as quality fish after quality fish made their way to the marina scales to be weighed, photographed and then released. Bass anglers reported the quarry a little bit deeper than in weeks past with texas rigged 10in worms and carolina rigs doing most of the damage.

Adam Varga of Budapest Hungry with a 6.8 Largemouth Bass taken on a 10in Wolf Pack Customs Plastic Worm. Adam also has a 3.9 in the picture. All fish where released after the photograph.

Armen Markary of Burbank fished a brush hog on a undisclosed rigged for this 7.0 Largemouth Bass. Armen was fishing near Trout Islnad when the big fish bit.



Jeff and Allsion Vinzant had a great guided trip with Don Spencer from donfishon.com. They reported catching their fish on steep breaks and drop offs with Carolina Rigged Brush Hogs and Dropshotting. Their five fish limit went 24lbs and some change. Pictured above are three of the better fish they got throught the day.

The catfish bite has started to turn towards its annual fall time pattern which means fishing in the 10-20ft range. Anglres should be advised to start bringing the heavier gear as the Big Blues go on the chew in the end of August into September and October.

Kevin Mack of Tustin is all smiles after he filled up his Kids Limit of Catfish while at the lake with his family. Mack's three fish limit went 5.10 lbs and was caught while fishing Mackeral and Shrimp in the Santiago Flats. Great young angler!

Just a reminder the Labor Day Catfish Tournament is scheduled for September 3rd and is the final qualifier for the King/Queen of the Cats tournament. Ten more lucky anglers will qualify for the finale from this tournament. Who will dethorne are current Queen of the cats Ms Dickerhoff? or will she defend her title and reign supreme for another year? only time will tell.
