    Default Perris, doublehookups, and #'s

My dad booked a trip for us with Pete Marino for my B-day. I have been bass fishing for 16 years now so I consider myself an average fisherman that rarely gets skunked with LMB but knew Pete could school me to make me better. I called Pete up and told him I wanted to learn topwater. After some discussion the trip was booked. (Just try and get Pete off the phone with his level of excitement and wilingness to speak with you about the sport). We went out today.

Third cast of the morning, boom, my topwater got crashed and my heart was racing. It was awsome. Two minutes later double hookup with both my dad's bait and mine being smashed within 5 feet of eachother so we both saw the doublehookup at the same time. Talking about exciting seeing two 3lbers crash two baits at once. An hour in and we had 6 topwater fish in the boat and two reaction fish in the boat. I missed a few but they were just as fun as catching them watching them blow up on the bait. Because of the heat and sun the bite ended early. I didn't care because I learned the basics with Pete's instruction and corrections. Pete took us to some deepwater structure he knows and hooked us up on plastics.

GAME ON! Every cast we had a fish. Double hookups, big hooksets, hard biting bass, a bit later and 35 fish in the boat. It would of been a 50 fish day for sure but I asked Pete if we could move and if he could show us how to graph ledges which he did. We returned to the off shore spot and in five minutes we had two more fish in the boat. We called it a day at 2 with 37 fish in the boat and about 15+ fish missed on topwater and failed hooksets. We caught multiple 3lb fish with Pete and my dad and Pete having the big fish both weighing over 4lbs.

Thanks Pete for the excellent level of customer service. I look foward to using you again in the winter.

If there is anyone on here thinking about booking him, it doesnt matter if you have 1 year or 16 years like me experience, just spend the money and do it. I will never forget this trip and will use the information to have future exciting days.

Great Job at Perris! Pete is an awesome guide and he will put you on fish! It sounds like the bite has picked up again after the full moon last weekend. Sounds like I'll be taking my boat out there next week before all the skiers chop up the water. Fishboy12 is right.......where is the fish porn???

    Default Nice!

First of all...... Fishboy12 you probably think youre to good for bass fishing now since you spent all of last week crushing the Dorado I officially hate you since you sent me that pic of all those Dorado.
Second of all, You need to get out here to my house and pick up that reel you wanted...THEN I think Joseph is feeling a bit ill so youll have to keep him home from school for some Perris slayage with me..
And 3rd of all... you work in freaking Nuclear Medicine you need to change your screen name to "The smartest bassfisherman on this site" or something like that and lose the Fishboy12..

Kingshad.....I guess this answers my question about the names...hahahha...
Im glad you and your dad had a great time... I too, will post a report tomorrow... with some pics.. Id include the pics of you if you werent in the witness protection program...lol

Greg... yeah they are chewing again since that full moon is going away.. If we had some cloud cover yesterday it would have been epic for topwater instead of just good. Cooler temps are coming though...watch out!!!
