Bass'n and Cating at the Vine 8/12

Got to the lake at 7am (was at a concert late Thurs pm) and hit the lake running. Lake Temp ran a good 75-76 and was 80-81 back in the creek arm. High overcast for most of the day kept it extremely nice for Aug. First 4 casts produced 2 bass w/ one a dink at a pond and the other was 1.5 lbs. Got one more a little later for a total of three for the day. Chased shad balls most of the am but nothing else as I raced all over all my bass spots. No topwater and no crank bass, just a brush hog and no more. Later in day got back to the creek arm and caught 2 kitties over two pounds. Clarity was a little down from a month ago and best if 8'. Lots of fry in the water and maybe some of the fish are full except the cats. They hit hard and liked the nightcrawlers w/ scent. No pics this time
