Hey everyone, my dad and I want to try and make a fishing trip up the coast. We have never really surf fished all that much and want to try and catch anything we can. If anyone has any hints and tips, or if anyone is interested in joining us and watching us make fools of ourselves you are more then welcome to come laugh at us. We were thinking of starting down near Newport and going anywhere. Any pointers or people who would be interested in joining just hit me up. I am only assuming fishing in Newps and up north is similar to where im from. But you can get a lite set up around 6lb and throw a carolina rig with sand crabs and get bit preety well anywhere in the OC that it is sandy. Also try Lucky Craft hardbaits they work well and cast well in the surf. Check out the Harbors, abys and surf forum for good info. Good luck!
