    Never fished for those before. Going to half to give it a try sometime. One hell of a battle I can imagine.

    We used carp for bait. Hooked him within 20 minutes and YES, One hell of a battle!

    carp?? r u serious did you use the a whole carp or cut it up?...and where did you catch a big momma like that?

    We use a whole carp about 8 inches long. In Swan Falls, Idaho. Catch and Release. If you keep a Sturgeon it is jail time, BIG TIME!

    My buddy up in the bay area called me a few weeks ago telling me that the sturgeon were going off in the bay. He texted me photos of his 13 year old son with 5 footers. You can keep slot size sturgeon in Cali. I don't know what the rules are are though. He says they are great to eat. Like halibut.
