Can someone help me out with a stupid question.. Still very new to freshwater fishing and I picked up 3 spinning reel / rod setup a few months ago in 3 different sizes. The sales rep said to use the long for things like swimbaits, lures, and the other 2 for soaking bait or jigs, robo worms. I didn't even realize that they made a rod specific for swim baits. What makes a rod a "swim bait" rod???

LOL.....Swimbait rods are generally long for casting distance and thick.......so you can chuck big baits without your pole breaking in half. It all depends on the size of swimbaits you plan on tossing. That will determine what rate of rods you will need.
