I catch the bluegill out of family farm ponds but talapia work as good as bluegill and almost every drain or canal leading to the Salton Sea has talapia in it.

Don't get caught using Tilapia in our area rivers and canals. They are illegal.

There are still some big flats in Lake Cahuilla. The last big flat I caught out of Cahuilla was a little over a year ago and it went around 25 pounds. 2 years ago my oldest son caught one over 30 pounds.

Thats good to know. Guess I need to get some bigger gear!
