Are you &%$#@* serious with this report Gary?!!!!
I was bummed when I missed the Fest.... Could have gone second half of the day and decided against.... due to the WIND reports. Then read all the reports and get even more bummed! Wind wasn't THAT BAD... Should have gone
So I went last weekend, got a few, and started to get over missing the StripeyFest. Now you post this report! YER KILLIN ME!
Oh well not your fault... Great Report! Makes me even more determined to get out to the next one. Just so I can meet you FNN and Striper Slayin Veterans!
One of the great moments from that day on the water !
WATCH OUT !
Small craft advisory !
Careful….
Partial RED TIDE TOO !
HEADS UP ANGLERS !
Prop wash comin at ya !!!!!!!!!
All hands on deck !
Ha ha ha ha....
Shouldn't always beleive what you read when someone makes blanket statements regarding weather for different regions other than what is the target for the day...
RED TIDE !
P.S.
Seems soemone was drawing info regarding those weather advisories from an ocean region and an ocean report..
So......
RED TIDE !
I sense a bit of sarcasm in that last post Gary... but I don't understand why.
Those swells look pretty damn scary to me!
Now I'm just confused!
Hey why did they want to buy your jacket again? LMAO!!!
Where's the video btw?
Not directed to you my brutha’…
Just makin light of things….
I think there was an “over” emphasis on the wind leading up to the event..
Just pokin’ fun at it : )
HaHaHa! Yeah I know you were just playin.
I was messin around too.
Still kickin myself for worrying about the wind tho... Saw the reports people posted, then got on the weather site myself and checked Lebec and Gorman and they said 20-30mph that day... So I stayed home.
By the looks of those pics you posted, the wind was worse this past weekend when I was out there.
Water under the bridge.... I'll make it to the next one
Just know that even when the winds ARE up, pyramid’s conditions are still always manageable and fishable, it does present some anchoring issues when they are up 25-30 but w creative anchoring and a little work again it’s doable..
Set the 2 achors w exaggerated arcs and it usually holds…
Need at least 150’ of anchor line on ea.
Castaic is a complete different story..
When the winds are up and coming from the northwest at Castaic…forget about it…
Hopefully U make it to the next one….we had such a great time…
Really gotta get more people to stay and camp though…
The 2 last times I utilized group camp areas, it all worked unbelievably well but people still aren’t staying to camp..
That’s when the 2nd gear of fun kicks in….camping by the fire…
I guess we’ll have to have smore’s next time….
That’ll get ‘em ta stay afterwards : )
ALSO: for those reading this….
There HAS to be some musicians out there on this site…
Next event I want to rally for a few other musicians to get a fireside jam goin’
Maybe 1 or 2 more guitar players
Maybe a bongo player
Maybe even a harmonica player
And of course….a singer…
God knows I am not that great of a singer so I’d love to see someone with real singing talent kick in for an all out fireside music blast….
MUSICIANS….chime in here if U read this..
Let’s do the next one in even bigger fashion : )
Gary,
I've seen how intense you are when you fish and I see that you put the same effort and intensity into your reports!
Great job man..........enjoyed every minute!
