Default Road trippin all the way to Oklahoma

As stated in the big brownies post, I took a road trip out to okalahoma to visit the family. The family time was awesome but the most pleasant surprise was that they had ponds on their property!!! Shooting guns and fishing every day, geez what a vacation!!! My arm is still sore from casting and the double 12….I figured I shouldn’t be selfish so it was time to get the nephew on his 1st fish!!! They used to breed minnows and crawdads in 2 of the 3 ponds…..bass were caught on spinners and worms in the ponds, no love froggin…. the sunfish were caught on panther martins in mcgee creek….enjoi

Nice to see someone else from OK. I drive to Ok every year for a fishing trip. I fish below the dam of kaw lake. Always get some stripers. After 10 years in CA i have not found yet a fishing spot as good as kaw lake. Maybe thats why I drive 1300 miles one way every year for a few days of striper fishing.

yeah i wanted to hit the poteau river, but the storms/tornadoes they had ruined the clarity....closest town would be big cedar...its backs the Ouachita national forest...gorgeous area, but it is the wild....they actullay had a federal prison with no walls!!! saw inmates playing soccer and farming on an open lot. they dare someone to try to escape since the forest is so gnarly and everyone who lives there has guns...lol
