Took a personal leave day off yesterday to go fishing and to celebrate the successful and brilliant execution of the kill op of Osama bin Laden by our great United States Navy SEAL Team 6…we can’t thank you enough gentlemen!

Took my little aluminum15ft Duroboat “Red Drum” to do a little afternoon fishing along with Jason “jscrib”

Tried a new rockfish spot and it sucked, but Jason did manage to catch one Sand Dab and about a 3lb Copper Rockfish.

The wind started to pick up to about 10-15mph so I decided to fish in shallower for some Bass.

Here is Jason with first Sand Bass of the day.

My first Sandie of the day, this particular bass had been caught before.

    Jason with another Sandie.

Then the Calico Bass started to bite, this bass ate a 6 inch lime green Basstrix swim bait on one of my homemade lead-heads.

    A nicer size Cloud Bass.

Jason’s first Calico of the day, which was the jackpot Calico Bass…for about 10 minutes.

Then I put on a pre-rigged tandem swim bait set-up (aka “Codding for Calico” set-up), and got slammed in the mid-water column by over 10 pounds of angry Checkerboards. Sweeeeet!! That right there made my friggin’ day! Scribby almost soiled his drawers when he saw these two quality size Calico come to the surface.

    Nice chunky Calico Bass.

Another drop down with the “CFC” set-up resulted in another nice Calico and a mauled swimmie on the other lead head.

Jason with his last dandy Sandie of the afternoon.

Had another fantastic fishing trip out on the big pond…caught a bunch of fish and burned less than 3 gallons of fuel. I can’t wait to go again. HOOK-UP!!

    Till next tide,

Those are some quality bass! Awesome job out there. Might have to look into that "CFC" setup.
