    Default Pac Macks

Pacific mackerel were biting at the Seal Beach pier last night. I've never tasted one before so i thought...what the hell i'll bring a couple home. Marinated fillets with fish sauce, sugar, garlic and lemon. grilled them over hot coals and served with rice! ummmmmmm.......tasty, not unlike salmon or tuna. Nice!

Are they really all that different from bonito? I'll have to try smoking one next. I've never smoked anything before. Heh...well, I smoked but I didn't inhale LOL. I'll have to look into how best to smoke some macks.
