    Default Holy Halibut Advice

When I go for Halibut , I use a long rod so you can feel the slightest nibbles.I use 15lb test on a medium sized spinning reel. The bait i caught my 26in.halibut, i used a piece of squid in a triangle shape with a #6 hook. The inner part of the Redondo Beach pier is my favorite spot for them, so i would recomend u try there. Best of luck to you all!

    pike guy,

Interesting. I landed one on a Mackeral fillet off a dock in LB once.

Sometimes Halibut aren't to picky, once while tied up to a guest slip in Alamitos Bay,I felt like fishing but had no bait,so I took a piece of summer sausage the kind you eat with slices of cheese.
I cast it out with a sliding sinker and let it sit, about 10mins later the rod goes bendo, results 27"Butt,hard to believe but true.
