Been way too long since I fished a full day at my favorite local lake, let alone on a weekday...last Friday I finally had the chance to do so!
Met up with BingJr and his boys around 6:30 for a day of trolling, was kinda scratchy for us but we all managed to pull on some fish and found a way to have a great time!
If you are trolling the Vine this weekend change it up until you find the pattern, fish seemed to be in the upper part of the water column for us although fish #1 came on a rapala TD around the bouy line
Trolled on and kept switching it up and everything seemed to get a look at one point or another....
David on net, wtg kid!
This one came on the gold needlefish acouple colors down
Solid fish are the rule of thumb these days at the Vine so it seems...
Capt. BingJr pondering life
Best part of the day was watching the kids crank on the fish, nothing better imo...nice going Orion!
Young gun on the boat Aiden got the biggest fish of the day, a 4.5lber that put on an aerial show for two other boats aside from ours, that included 3 full leaps out of the water....awesome site with a youngster holding on tight at the other end! WTG!
Family shot of the day's catch
Good stuff!
Finished the last hour of the day fishing from shore near the fish cleaning station and chatted with FishingDude420 and ZombieBassAttack....nice seeing you Tim n Larry. We had a flurry of action that seemed to be sparked by the addition of a little BiteOn Garlic and crawler/egg combo....the fish hit like freight trains, but just wouldn't stick this time around!
ZBA on the bendo...
Unfortunately this fish lived to swim another day (DOH!)
David even hooked up on the kiddie pole...the fish busted off at the shore, but Bing didn't want to clean any more fish anyways!
Of course the day came to an end way too quickly, until next time....
See you on the water,
TD
