    Default Whats this fish? Sunfish or Perch

    Hey guys . I have a question regarding a fish I caught last year in Sacramento River last summer. I've never caught any others like it and I want to know what this is. Maybe some kind of Hybrid? sorry about the wierd angle on the fish. all my pictures after this include tail

    looks like a red ear(shellcracker) sunfish...

    Yea i've been viewing pictures of sunfish like redear and warmouth, but they have kind of different 'stripes' and colors. it does look like a redear but could it be something else?

    Nope that's a juvenile redear... Catch them all the time at the Pudd, SFD and local ponds.
