I arrived @ the lake about 4:30am to an average sized Saturday crowd. Main gates opened shortly after 6am as always. I launched my boat and was on the troll by 6:15am. Today I trolled various lures throughout the day all dipped/soaked in Bite-On. Last week Bite-On Maize did me sooo good I decided it'd be the flavor of the day again.
Here's a pic I shot shortly after leaving the dock.
Ya'll may notice there's a fish in that photo. Thats because when I was letting my leadcore line out I noticed the line wasn't straight on the spool. The plan was to let out 6 colors of line, then I was going to reel in 3-4 of them to straighten it out on the spool. As I was letting out the 6th color, the line got heavy. "Ohh sh*t, I must have just snagged the bottom" I thought, as I reeled my line back in. When I got to 1 color I "reelized" it was fish on. After taking that pic I safely "reeleased" the pregnant mom back into the lake so she can hopefully spawn soon and add to the future crappie population at the Vine.
Heres a pic I took of yet another beautiful Vine sunrise (hidden behind the overcast skies).
2nd fish of the day, another crappie! (Also safely released back into the lake)
1st trout of the day!
2nd trout of the day!
3rd trout of the day!
4th trout of the day!
and for the limit....
Here's a pic of my limit! (gave one away to a family that was leaving with only 1)
Big fish of the day on the Vine's scale.
Limit +2 by 2pm! What another awesome day of fishing at my favorite lake the Vine.
I'll be camping/BBQin the line this coming Friday night the 18th and fishing the Sport Chalet Tournament the next day (19th). Come join us for some good times and great fishing.
