    Hello everyone,
My name is Alfredo and I just made the switch from spinning to casting a little over a year ago and haven't looked back since lol. I do most of my fishing on the jetty or in shoreline. I've been lurking for about a month now and finally decided to join the family, seems like a good crowd.

    Welcome to the site.
That's funny, cause I've been throwing the spinning lately, when I learned conventional.

hey man, welcome to the boards.

I'm in lakewood myself, do mostly freshwater. Get in touch and we'll hit some of the parks sometime.

Welcome! As Hometown said pretty cool people on this site,as for spinning vs casting,it's like everthing else, different strokes for different folks, but everything has it's place and use. Kinda hard to throw 2lb test for trout on anything else than a spinning rod, 8ft my preference.

I can't hate on the spinning though because I caught my first Hali & my first legal Hali on my ol' faithful spinning rod and in the same area too LOL. My first flatty was 21 1/2" and my first and only legal was 26". It felt really good to get that first legal out of the way.

    Thanks for the welcome.

Thanks Josh, sounds really good. I've been meaning to try freshwater but tend to shy away since i've never had luck in fresh water.
