Wahoo Caught In Alamitos Bay This Morning

John Hester from Norwalk caught this wahoo on a blue and white candy bar lure at 8:05 AM inside Alamitos Bay, CA fishing with his wife Laura. The catch was witnessed by Good Karma skipper Shawn Morgon and Bobby Lineau from Bobby's Big Fish in Seal Beach

Wow! I was working on the thunderbird today and heard about this on the receiver while we were loading bait. I didn't believe it when i heard it, but that is awesome. That fish was really lost a long way from home. Congrats on the catch!

Wahoo seen schooling from Pier J to Alamitos jetty.
Only a couple boats got in on the action. Get in on these local exotics before it is too late ! Look for birds.

Long Beach resident Ricardo Ramirez caught this one below off Belmont Pier saturday afternoon but had to perform a beach landing due to the size.

He said 'I just went down there to try for a shark. When it took my bait I thought it was stuck on someones boat when it took off. After 45 minutes we got it up on the beach.
This is the happiest day of my life.' He said during a CNN interview.
