Notable catches of the week...this week temperatures cooled down, but the bite didn't... saw alot of healthy Bass and even a few wipers being caught and released...

One of Irvine Lake's featured guide Don Spencer with a 7.4lb Wiper

*Wipers will definately hit topwater similar to the Striped Bass. Wipers will hit similar LMB gear like crankbaits, jigs and will eat bait. Fishermen, just be sure to catch, photo & release all of our LMB and Wipers so others will enjoy a similar fight in future! (please see initial post on pg1 for C&R)

The Bass bite at the Vine is just solid, specially the night bite.

James Smiley of Diamond Bar/BPS lands a 6.8lb

    Bryan again with another 7lbr

Bryan Yamane of Cerritos and Young Kim...largest was 7lbs (Must be the hat)!

What happens if I hook a bass and it dies? Do I dump it in the lake dead?

Largemouth Bass when caught using lures/bait rarely ever die (unless kept in livewells for a long time- And there's no need to do that here at the Vine). If a Bass/Wiper are "gutt hooked" cut the line and release it, the hooks will rust out in a period of time.

Even with the cooler temperatures coming to the Lake, Bill Nelson still scores a nice Irvine Lake Largemouth! Caught on a Texas Rig setup
