I don't get why its catch and release but yet we have to pay 22$ for entrance fee..and then 10$ for launch.

In short Irvine Lake's Largemouth Bass (LMB/Bucketmouths) are a gamefish that are NOT STOCKED, like some of our other fish. Thus resulting LMB's Catch and Release ONLY policy (Both Species - LMB and Wipers) .

Keeping these fish will thin the population ending in NO MORE BIG ONES, or worse.. No BASS, and less fishing/catching. If you catch or see someone catching, please release or ask them to release. Otherwise we'd be happy to help C&R them for you

I did see a guy with a LMB on a stringer about two weeks ago on trout island. In these cases should I call the tackle shop and report them? Just want to know for future reference.

You can always call the tackleshop for anything that concerns the Lake (including fishermen keeping LMB or Wipers unknowlingly). We will happily let fishermen know the rules and regulations on Irvine's Catch & Release polices... 714-649 9111 xt 1

surprisingly as much as i striper fish i dont know jack about wipers, do you catch them on striper stuff or lmb stuff.
