Default San Clemente Homeguard Yellows....Freedom 8-16

Quick report. Fished San Clemente island aboard the Freedom off 22nd st. landing. Big Yellows are biting and they are mean. Real thumpers... Not a WFO bite but the quality more than makes up for it. My first 2 cast resulted in a back to back Yellows. They bit well in the am. These yellows took me for a ride. hahaha I fished straight 30 izor so i was able to put pressure and pull on the fish. It's just what the doctor ordered...:) Get out there and get your fix. Dropper on live squid with very long leader. My first time fishing the freedom and i give the captn & crew A+. Very courteous and helpful. Lots of laugh on the boat. Here's a few pics...

    Homeguard Yellows freedom style!!
(bigger of the 2 weighed 35lbs on the digi)

Those are some SERIOUS yellows right there, congrats on the nice catch. Unless I looked at the wrong report it says there were 6 caught on the trip you went on, getting 2 of them is pretty impressive WTG!

The Freedom is a great boat, good choice.

    Whammy,

Yes all fish were taken on the dropper. An older gentleman went on a reride with us. He was on the freedom the day b4. He said they got a couple on the yoyo's. Cast out and let it hit the mud then a steady wind. No one fished the jigs on our first spot. The skipper also said to try heavy sliders since he is metering suspended wsb. No one listened. lol
