I know there are a butt load of huge carp there. I was there in june a saw hundreds of carp in the 10-20 lb range. My advise is use a small hook and a good size weight ( current is fast ) corn, nightcrawlers, breadballs. Im not sure but Harah's has their own beach you might be able to fish it.

I launch out of Kathrine's pretty often. We go mostly for family boating and watersports, but I always bring a couple rods and some chovies for lazy striper fishing. They're always moving around so you'll have to hunt for them. I was out there 2 weeks ago and spent 3 hours trolling from the dam clear up to the basin and back; never metered a single fish. I always experience much better fishing up above Cottonwood Cove. Fishing the river may be your best bet.

Don't forget your NV or AZ fishing license with the Colorado River stamp. Your CA license doesn't cut it in Laughlin.

    Good luck

Depends on what you are fishing for bro. If you are taking the family and just want to catch something, carp is the way to go. Bread doe ball with vanilla extract and sun tan lotion to hold it all together, that's the ticket at those lakes. You will also tie into big catfish using that bait. When you go out of Katherines, turn left and go down to the coves on the left for bass. Lots of bass back there. I'm guessing you will have to fish early early though due to the 120 degree weather out there. after that, go pick a dock or stay in a cove and throw some lines in off your toon.

As far as fishing the river, same thing......Fly line a piece of bread out in the current and let in go down river. Carp will usually hit it will it's floating down river. Try and pack the bread on the hook so it stays on. Keep rebaiting the bread and chucking it........if you are going for anything else, heavy weight and chovies is the ticket. Good luck!
