Default 7/31 Guide trip @ upper lake

Fished with eddie33081 this Saturday, met at Gallions at 6:00 got to the ramp, parking lot was barley a few rigs in there, Launched and headed out to my first spot for the day.
Eddie's a great guy, He was looking to catch some bass and also get some useful info for when he gets his Stratos on the water, and I got to tell you he's pretty smart to hire a guide who fishes 4 to 5 times a week, and pick his brain for info on patterns, locations, and current baits to use to catch fish and he couldn't hired anyone better in my opinion...lol
As I've said in my other posts that I'm into a jig bite right now, not that other presentations won't work, I try different setups all the time, but right now a jig pattern worked slowly down the slope of the rocks is getting bit right now, it's slow pick but the fish are biting.
Eddie brought a nice stick with him but he keyed in on my glx 802 with a core 100 and I couldn't take it away from him.
I think we again missed as many as we caught, it's was a slow morning but it picked up in the mid morning with some one and two pounder's on the flickshakeworm and the wacky shaky heads.
Some fish came from deep water while others slammed the bait as soon as it hit the water.
Eddie took big fish honors with a 4 to 5 pounder that unfortunately spit the hook just as I reach down to lip it, sorry bout that, next time I'll pull my hat down across my face as not to scare them away...or keep the net handy...
We ended the day looking around showing Eddie some key fish areas but I could tell from the cell phone text's from his wife that I had kept him out a little to long, so we headed in and got out of there as the place had really gotten crowded. Great day, great guy to fish with, really enjoyed his company, look forward to getting him back out there when the shad come up and put him to work on the dip net.

Just a heads up to everyone, Dave's a great guide and very easy going guy. Treats you like family. He knew the entire lake like the back of his hand and was getting us fish in the boat even during this tough summer bite. I can only imagine when the bite is WFO. If you thinking of getting out there dont hesitate to use his services. Rates are crazy good right now too.

Thanks for the great trip Dave. Had a blast. Just what I was looking for on my day out on the water. Lost that big one at the boat but caught my share. Im sure there will be many more of those to come. Write me in as a regular with ya.

PS: Getting me a BCR802 GLX very soon. Rod is super sensitive. Put the Steez Rod to shame...
