Default Castaic 7/23 with Striper Only

So 3 years ago went out with Trout Only... and this is what happened...

This time my son wanted his hand at stripers... so , "Who do you call? "Ghostbusters!!!" Nope... you call Bob....

and this is what happened... We fished Castaic from 6:00 - 6:00 and it was Bob, my dad and my son, Caleb... and me, Blake... combo birthday present for Caleb who turned 10 and me who will turn more than 10 in September.

Caleb got his first striper at about 6:30... notice the sun! the fish was 20" and maybe 2.5 - 3 lbs... Caleb's biggest fish of his life!

Then i got smart about which way the camera should be held...

Later I caught one..... and then there were 2

I'll let Bob explain how and where we caught the fish... (in case he doesn't... I guess he catches them the same way he does trout... he trolls with Power Bait!)

First stripers for all three of us... now we will see how they taste.... If they taste really good I will have to try my hand at stripers more often...

We ended up with 4 for the day... But more importantly what a great chance to spend a day with my dad and my son.... and to top it off with Bob's stories and conversation.... He is truly a man with a gift!

Next time I use him I may have to call him "Carp Only".... I hear rumors he may be taking up a new species :)

    Later.

Its amazing how neither of my kids will hold the fish they catch... maybe some day!!!!

    and TO....

You are more than welcome!!!! I really do appreciate your fishing abilities and your stories and your humor.... [and I promise I have not told Gary what you actually said about him! Our little secret :) ]

If you need company when you fish Cachuma... just let me know... I 'd be happy to serve as your guide that day (on your boat using your stuff of course)
