    Default Tubin Perris - 7/22

Few of us decided to hit Perris last night for some late afternoon tubin on the hunt for some panfish and cats. A little windy as it always is in the afternoon there so we had some work on managing location but fared well with that part.

Water temp was very nice, no actual degrees reading but only used the board-shorts while in the water and only felt cool once we got out with that breeze. Four of us out there for about 3hrs we managed about 15-20gils between us and a couple kitties made it to the surface but weren't able to get them in the tube. Kept half dozen of the gills for frying, here's a pic of 5 that hadn't gotten cleaned yet. Just an FYI... Lots of females full of roe out there and a VERY solid bite when you find appropriate structure and depth.

Sounds like you guys had fun. I guess no one caught any of the large male Bluegills?

Nope, no real luck with the brutes. We didnt do as well as hoped with keeping position with the wind blowing and I'm of the opinion we chose one of the poorer days with the moon and barometer as well.

BTW, is there a quick field way of telling the males from the females?
