Thread: Shad at Fairmount Park

  1. #1

    Default Shad at Fairmount Park

Landed some Bass this weekend in the morning. However, the most intriguing thing of the day was the massive amount of Shad all over the West end of Lake Evans! They were by the American Legion Hall. Has anyone else seen this (in the picture below?). Fished the area hard with some of the Shad as live bait, and used some other swimbaits, but seemed the Shad were not being chased. They were just traveling along the wall instead being pushed up by Bass. Maybe I was wrong, but a runner who came by said he saw the Shad swimming like this before and it seems they use it as a means of traveling. What do you think?

shads have always been in fairmont, threy make good for bait and wait lunkers...if the live bait is taken from the lake you are fishing the bait wit then it is legal....

By the way Rapala....your pick of the bass looks like it should be in a magazine.....I really like the green tint to it.
