I went down to the canals of Palo Verde, last week. In hopes of getting the cherry off on my first flathead. It didn't disappoint. I got there saturday morning with a buddy that knows the area. We caught bait and then went to his spot along the backwater of Colorado river. Not two hours into it, I got a short run and checked and it felt snagged. I tried pulling to break free and then it pulled back!!! This was huge and difficult to turn. The hook was stuck and it was on. I, finally, got him to shore and could'nt land him. The shore was too steep. My buddy helped land it and took some pictures. 13lb flathead, my first!!!
The rest of the night had alot of runs but no hookups.
I got sick, real sick, but, recovering for another day to catch those flatheads!!!!

Nice job on your first Flattie !!!! The bite has been on fire out that way as of late. Bigger units should be coming out soon. Thanks for the field report !
Nice flat man! My brother and I were around their 2 weeks ago and my brother pulled in a 10 on cutbait. I have pictures but I guess they are too big to load? Any help to load them would be AWESOME
