San Antonio with Cutbait and Webmaster - they felt the STEEL !
Hit San Antonio with Cutbait Mike and Webmaster Jeff.
Started off a little slow as we began figuring out the lakes structure, the zones, trying different methods and looking for active fish.
Eventually we began to be successful as we started to make contact with the fish.
Hooookup !
Mike was OooooooN !
Mike was the 1st to boat a fish and we were getting into the killing business…..
Saweet ! (congrats Mike)
I had heard on the grapevine about some sort of STRIPER Fishing CODE !
I studied up on the freshwater striper code and found that there were large loopholes and divots within the code so I took it upon myself to fill in the blanks….
We’ll touch on the details of that code a little later but at least two of those fundamentals were met….
Killing !
AND
Bloood !
A little while goes by and and I heard :
Zzzzz Zzzz Zzzzzzz…..Zzzzzzz !
oh yeah….I almost forgot…..ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz!
Thump ! Thump ! headshake HEADSHAKE !
This time it was none other than our resident Webmaster…..Jeff !
Jeff battled the worthy adversary like a trooper !

This is what we came for….
To the net it goes and anotha’ STRIPER CODE victory goes down in the books !
Well now it HAD to be my turn to shake a skunk…
And what Daddy wants…….Daddy GETS !

Zzzzz z Z Zzzzzzzzzzzzz Again…..
Saweeeeet ! another drag peelin battle !
Unfortunatlely that one shook off……..(wahmp wump wump wahhhhh!)
Following all that is the CODE I fished on…
Working….watching….waiting…willing the action to happen !
Hoookup !
Ohhhh Yeah !....
ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Zzzzzz swoosh !....It's ON !
” it’s a nice one !” I state !
After a nice drag peellin’ battle it hits the net !
That one would turn out to be our biggest of the day….approx 11 ½ to 12 lbs !
Saweeeet !
So we fish on…….hoookup !
Drag Screamin’ Breakoff !
Dayam, all three of us broke off a few fish !....
BUT….after a quick review of the “CODE” and a pledge of allegiance!
and a slight alteration to our tackle....
Then….
We LANDED several more…
During a quick pit stop at the docks….
Mike started “Tooling” around…
He was acting like a “Tool”
He kept talking about large Tools
and then I looked up on the shoreline to see a distance runner….quite a stalky one to boot….he seemed to be drawing attention to himself as some girls and EVEN MIKE started crowding around him….
I will point out that THIS DOES NOT follow the code MIKE !
Not sure what was happening but Mike sure was having fun up there !
Our day began to close and we opted to experiment again with a new zone and method and our day came to an end…
I’d like to dedicate this all to Bob, even though we were considering this lake for 9 months or more, it was that kick in the rear that Bob gave us that made us commit…

BUT…. I must conclude with:
The “CODE”
The STRIPER Fishing “CODE”.
1.Locate and contact ALL striper schools.
2.After locating said schools….Kill THEM !
3.Whilst’ in the killing spree’ one MUST shed MAX Bloood !
4.Repeat steps 2 AND 3 !
5.While repeating steps 2 and three Talk max smack about your buddies on the boat with you and elaborate how they are slacking and you keep catching all the fish (feel free to elaborate !.
6. NO Grab Arse on deck !
7.Whilst’ catching, killing, eating and talking smack ! …..One MUST :
“Pump up their EGO’s” !
about Catching, Killing…and Eating…..
Boasting is a MUST….
Seek acknowledgement from others….a nice pat on the back is a good start ! (again-no grab arse !)
Aknowledge others ! (no grab arse !)
8. Seek to expand your knowledge and learn how to locate, catch and kill and shed MORE Blood !
Enough is NEVER enough……..
9. Learn how to fish with little or no sleep !
