Hi again. I finally was able to get back to striper fishing at Castaic Lake this week. I missed last week due to work and prepping my saltwater boat for the summer season. I had my new friend and marine mechanic Sammy join me for this trip. He did an excellent job on my saltwater motor so I guaranteed him we will catch 20 fish minimum. We did pretty well and we did catch well over 20 fish. I did not get to fish my usual spots and plucked fish off some general striper areas. Here is how the day went:
It was nice day to be fishing. Thank God, the winds are gone.
Went to the left side of the lake and parked it. Found this decent unit on the first drop.
A couple of weeks ago, there was no one here.
Parked it at the Buoy Line Shrub Hole and Sammy connects.
Good fish.
We put some more hurt on the buoy line. Action shot.
Put some really solid fish for Sammy's cooler. Half way there.
Since we were half way there. I decided to make a move to another spot. Enjoyed ourselves with a Gallion Large Italian Combo. Sooooo goood for the tummy.
Second spot was a schoolie heaven.
They bit right on cue and we were getting hooked up.
Second rod was going off too.
Fatty. The fish tend to concentrate here during the middle of day when everything fizzes out.
We were already caught well over 20 fish already. I accomplished my mission. Just need a few more fatties to fill our limit. So we took a trip to one last spot.
Yep they are here.
Nice one.
This is what we are looking for.
Top off the limits with these.
Stay a little while longer at the nearby buoy line to get in some fun.
Kitty.
Parting shot.
Hope you enjoyed another week at Castaic with me. I had a ton of fun. See you all next time.
