Thread: 5-8 Castaic Stripers on fly again

  1. #1

Default 5-8 Castaic Stripers on fly again

Still waiting for conditions to improve a bit more on the saltwater scene, but in the meantime, we keep having success up at the lake with those "Carp in Tuxedos". Today I had Dave and Grant with me. It takes coordination and cooperation to fish three fly anglers on my 20' boat, but we did fine. Everyone caught fish, had some laughs, and enjoyed the day.

I guess we're in the right place...

    Yep, they're here...

    The cast...

    The hookup...

    Playing tug o' war...

    The reward...

    Nice 5lb female...

    Grant gets bit...

Dave - about to chuck one...

Last cast of the day. One more for the road...

Excellent!!! Great way to spend the day, looks like the wind wasn't too much of a factor for you guys, what time did you get out there? I was there early morning and it seemed like it was starting to die down as it got later, but I didn't have the time.

Wait till they start boiling and you are going to have some extreme fly fishing!
