Thread: Tubing NPH with SeaSick17 4/24

Default Tubing NPH with SeaSick17 4/24

Arrived at the spot at 0600 and tubed the outgoing tide. Unfortunately the area we chose to fish was heavily pressured by yakkers and boat fisherman. However, we made the best of it and were able to pick up some of the spotties that were left behind. Here's a few pics.

This was one of the "better" spotties of the morning. Most of the fish caught today were dinks.

Flyngby? Hesbros? Does this sailboat belong to you guys?

This little pup was just chillin enjoying the sun.

Most of the fish caught were about this size.

With all the dinks and short nibbles I was wondering if all the larger models were caught by all the boaters and yakkers. As we worked our way back, SeaSick hooked up with a nicer spottie.

A few docks later and he goes bendo again.

    Landed ! A hefty 16 inch spottie!

I followed up with a 17 inch spottie that was pictured on SeaSick's cam, but didn't realize that I forgot to picture the fish on my own cam before flipping him back into the water.

Updated: Here's the 17 inch spottie.

Ended the day at 1200. Total fish count between the both of us was about 20, most of which were dinks except for the 2 nice spotties in the end.

Overall a decent day of tubing. I think the worst part of the day was when I dropped my sunglasses during a hookset, only to pull up a dink sandie.

SeaSick, it was a pleasure fishing with you. Hopefully we can do it again sometime soon. If you have any pics to add, please post them.

Those mullet are all over the harbor. I see them jumping all the time but i never know what they are eating. I have heard the only way to catch them is peas.

Thanks for the report.. Those dinks are still fun to catch, they're feisty. Hit me up the next time you're out tubing. We should get all the tubers together and flood NPH. =D

They jump around all the time. Never caught one though. I hear they like peas & carrots.

Thanks Robert. Yeah it was a long weekend of fishing. I'm sunburnt and my thumbs are chewed up from lipping bass. If fishing is suppose to be calm and relaxing, why do I feel so tired when I get home.

That would be awesome. The funny thing is when I'm tubing, I'm usualy the only guy tubing. Where all the tubers at? I'll hit you up for sure the next time I plan on tubing.

LOL I heard something drop into the water. The first thing I look for is my camera, which was still sitting in it's place, but the time it took me to do that my sunglasses had already sunk down to about 3 feet. CRAP!

I have yet to try the Coast Guard area, which I've heard a lot about. I heard of people tubing the bridge, but haven't looked into it so I wouldn't know where to launch. I usually fish anywhere I have access to a bunch of docks.
