Since I had no plans for the weekend, I decided to try my luck at the Lagoon. Arrived at the Lagoon to a brisk 51* air temp, no wind, and water temp 58*.
Started out at Sail Cove, landing my first fish within 20 minutes. Continued fishing sail cove for one more, then headed north to Hobie beach. Had some success here, landing 3 cookie cutter bass, upto about 2 lbs. While the wind was non existent, I decided to explore water I had not recently fished. As I made my way further north, swim beach had multiple tubers and boaters, with an 11 year old girl and her dad slaying the bass. I watched her land a nice 2- 3 lb'er, handling it like a veteran, very cool !
As I ventured further north, I saw Butch Brown, I kicked over to say hello. As we we're talking, I was occasionally throwing out a Robo worm on my drop shot, landing my biggest fish of the day, weighing 5 lbs on Butch's scale, looks smaller in the pic to me. After chatting with Butch for 20- 30 min, I headed to the east shore to throw a Senko by the tullies, no takers.
Headed back to Hobie beach, which was still holding fish, I landed 2 small ones. The winds we're picking up, I decided to head down to the rip rap, where I saw Ron (Wanderer). We talked for awhile, and fished a couple locations with no takers.
As my day was winding down, I fished the dock and Sail cove to land 2 more for a total of 10 fish, by far my most productive day on the Lagoon. All fish were caught drop shotting a variety of Robo Worms. Water temps warmed to 62*, with air temps reaching 74*.
