04-18-10 Catching Jewls at DVL
Went fishing at DVL this morning I got to the lake at 0830 AM and fished for 2 1/2 hours. There were several boats on the lake due to the National Bass West Tournament and the regular weekend recreational fishermen
I launched my boat and decided to fish a few points Knowing that the bigger bass are holding in deeper water, I targeted them in 20-30 ft. I pulled out the old trusty C-rig and on the third cast tap, tap, tap, set the hook and landed a 5 pounder in the boat I repositioned the boat made another cast. I felt a nice bump and then nothing. Knowing that Mr. bass was still there with my bait in his cross hairs I patiently waited within 45 seconds to a minute Mr. Bass could not resist the offering and decided to inhale the bait. I immediately set the hook and another healthy "JEWL" LMB was in the boat
Two boats came in the area I was fishing with their outboards screaming I decided to move to another location and try my luck. Got to another spot and positioned my boat. A few cast later same results 'fish in the boat". Due to the LA Lakers playing today I decided to call it a day and support my favorite team. Go Lakers and go DVL LMB. Tight Lines.........

Nice man, you got that place on lock.

Those are some nice fish. Good strategy to fish deep. There are a lot of shallow fish, but, they are very line shy. Thanks.
