Largemouth Bass for aquarium?
Anyone know where I might be able to purchase one? My father-in-law just hooked me up with a 100 gallon aquarium. I want to put a juvenile largemouth bass in there. I've seen videos of pet bass on youtube and they make very interesting and unique pets.
Try china town in l.a., i don't know the name of the store but i have seen markets selling live large mouth bass for consumption.
some of the 99 ranch stores have live ones for sale, but i dont know if they'll sell it to you live still.

I've tried to by live fish at ranch 99 and they wouldn't sell to me. I got one in my tank that eats out of my hand. Lake cyuamaca will let you take the small ones.
I'm actually a decent saltwater fisherman but I don't know much about freshwater. So I will be hard pressed to catch one at one of the city lakes around here. The nearest bass lake here I believe is Castaic. So 99 ranch might be my best option? How about a stocking plant? Are there any around that harvest largemouth bass that would allow me to purchase one or two babies.
get an asian friend of yours to buy one at 99ranch, think you'll have better luck. or try an asian pet/fish store they might have something there for you...

Nice! I will definitely try that. My uncle is Chinese and I'm Filipino. Do you know which 99 sells them? Because I have a 99 nearby in Gardena but I don't think they sell them there. An address would be super helpful. Thanks again!

Almost every one I know who has or had them, took them home from some lake....!!!!
Average LM bass grow at 1# to 1 1/2# per yr.. If fed and cared for properly.. (10 inches+ in first yr)???
They will outgrow most aquariums very, very fast....
Lot of better alternative fish you can get that will be aggressive, dominant and live feeders.. Oscars??
Seriously try peacock bass... Its much more entertaining. I have four aquariums now and have had both LMB and Peacocks.
