So being this my last day to fish this week i had to put some time in. So at 8am i hit the lagoon. I tossed the drop shot out. First cast half way in i feel the bait get picked up, i reel down the slack, and it gives a nice strong chew. I set the hook. BENDO! FISH ON!!!!!! I yell out to a boater "great way to start the day." Then "Spa-toie" fish spit the hook out at me. Bummer!!!! Fished till 9am and then went to put the first coat on sealer on some flagstone. Jumped back in my car and this time i brought my dog Duke as my god luck charm,and right back to the lagoon. (BTW my dog loves it this was my first time taking him out with me.)



I started throwing out the drop shot and i got a tap really close to shore but it felt like a crappie. Then i tossed out a 11" midnight blue worm on a Texas rig, nothing. Then i tossed out a 7 1/2" robo x in peoples worm color, Nothing. Then i tired a plastic crappie jig on a drop **** set up, nothing.

Then i saw an old worm i had not used in about 3 years. So i threw that on a drop shot rig. Casted out and then BAM a hard slam. Set the hook!!!! BENDO FISH ON!!! This time i caught it.

The best was he licked the bass b-4 i let it go lol. he gave it a kiss for me this time.



So i keep fishing with this worm. About 30 minutes later same worm still. I get a text message and i sit down to see who texted me and have a smoke. As I'm grabbing for my cell phone my rod almost flies out of my hand. I grab it mid air, and set the hook!!!!! BAM BAM BAM ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ this was a pretty strong fighting fish. She was dragging me around. Duke was going pretty crazy too watching me catch this fish.





This one i guessed at about 4 pounds she was very fat and ready to pop. You can see the bulge on her belly. Let her go back in. Fished for a bit longer but then i had to head back since my dog was getting tired form all the excitement of being at the lake. So i drop off my dog finish up the 2nd coating and head back to the lake. As i get close i decided to try the west ramp on the upper lake since it's been a while. I get up there and i set off to fish the first point off the west ramp. Snag city!!! I can't get a cast out without snagging every time and breaking off lead and hooks. So i moved to hit the rocks. Nothing but snags again. Fished the finger dock, nothing there. Then i go to the end of the rocks towards the damn area. I throw on a red crawler on a d/s and first cast Tap tap tap, GULP!!! BENDO!!!! Set the hook FISH ON!!!!!!!! I get it almost all the way in and it gets snagged damn!!





I let off and she pulls herself free and breaks off the weight. I end up landing her.





I work down the shore, then back up. i get right in the beginning of the cove. first cast out there BAM!!! Once again the fish snagged but quickly broke off the weight (gotta love d/s weights) i reeled that one in.







I fished a bit longer for nothing. Fished the lagoon for about 30 more minutes after for nothing.



So i called it a day at 5pm.



All and all not to bad 2 Bass on the lagoon fishing my my boxer Duke. Then catching 2 bass on the upper lake. Also getting a job done all at the same time. I'm pretty tired now tho bwhahahahaa.



I did notice that the bass on the lagoon are way fatter. The upper lake bass were half the belly size.

We finally ended up split shotting and got 10 or 11 of them, I'm not really sure. Got them on LifeLike Plastics reapers and 4 inch worms. Still had fun. I was really hoping to get on some crappie but the bite was just not there. We talked to Butch and he said the water temp had dropped over the past couple days and the fishing slowed way down. We metered tons of fish suspending in 30 feet of water. There were also a few people in boats soaking live crawdads and not getting bit, thats pretty tough fishing.

I'm hoping to get back to the goon before my knee peplacement surgery on April 5th.

Nice I hope u killed him.This fisherman 2day killed 2 lmb! He asked me,hey man how do this fish taste.I told it they were the best fresh water eating fish in socal.He killed them right in front of me as I laughed! LMAOOO!!!!
