Default "SWAT" Spring Training Camp and Recon!!!!!

Spring will arrive this Saturday so Wingnut called us together on Sunday for some spring “BOOT CAMP” refresher training.

Mother Nature has keep most of us out of the surf for the past few months and Wingnut wanted to gather the troops and put us through some drills to get us back into shape and sharpen our skills!

Commander “Wingnut” seems to forget that some us members are getting a little older and those 100 yard sprints in the sand and extreme stair climbing in full battle gear are not as easy as they once were!

Some of the members gearing up in the roadside locker room.

Come on Mike! "Wingnut" is already pissed that we were late!

    "Wingnut" waiting for us again!

Conditions upon arrival. Mike (Exfactor) was the early bird! He is the little dot in the surf way down the beach!

Some of the SWAT Crew reporting for duty. Flyngby, Bones, Wingnut, Bigred & Blackwater.

Our Santa Barbara SWAT Crew member Mikey (Exfactor).

    Planning the assault.

Lucas (BigRed) modeling the latest SWAT gear.

    Blackwater was first to score.

Then Bigred with a Nice Calico Perch

    Wingnut challenging himself again.

Video of our Commander making it look so easy!

Who is this SWAT member in the Halibut stalking position? Hint, orange rod.

Fun was had by all and our skills are sharpened for the upcoming hunt for the near future when the Flatties come into the shallows in the very near future!!!

The tides today also gave us a peak of the changes in the structure that has changed.

    Very Nice Report Steve..
Your recononnaissance mission seems to have been a pleasurable endeavor.
With the temperatures a liitle on the south side of the 50's this weekend in the A.M., I know why all of you were a little bundled up...
Those 1-2 foot waves looked pretty enticing. Down in S.D. they were 1-2 foot, overhead..
Over in San Onofre, at Surfers Beach, they were big as well, but that didn't stop the, well over 40 Dudes, out in the waves.
Thanks for the report and pictures,
    Robert

Arthur told me you guys had a great time, and I can see why! Even though there weren't many flatties caught, the SWAT team will get into them very soon now that the weathers warming up. At least the perch kept you guys entertained, along with Wingnut's Superman antics. I wish I had been able to make it out there with you guys, and I hope we'll fish together soon.
