Default Castaic Sunday -Merry Xmas slayday

My buddy Nader came down from Santa Cruz to visit his family for the holidays and stopped by my backyard for a lil visit to Castaic on his way home.

A Christmas slay is what he received (whatta’ gift huh ?)

We ventured on out in search of Mr. Stripey….

In my tub, it was a little slow but we made a “Fashionably late” entrance !

Water was up a little and relatively clear..

We wanted to just have a relaxing day and catch up on old times….

    I was 1st on….
    Bendo !

It was a slow pick but a steady pick for the better part of the day…

We really enjoyed ourselves nailing striper after striper….

It seems when we ate Naders home smoked salmon, the fish seemed to like it cause then I hooked up with the biggest one of the day (with salmon grease on my hands and everything !)

Scorree ! - not a huge toad but a nice solid feesh.

All the fish weren’t extremely huge but nice and solid..
It made for a good fun day..

Here’s one comin’ to da boat !

And finally it was time ta leave…

But not before a few quick picks for the holiday slay memory books !

Bait'n down did the trick for us and we lost a few fish too but we came home with a limit each....... in tough winter conditions.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone !

    “get yo’ SLAY ON !”

That's a couple of nice stringers there.

I'm not sure that I want to start using Salmon for bait but I guess I could spare a little scent off of my hands.

Way to slay um!! Nothing is better than fishing, friends and taking the sled out. Did you try any vertical jigging spoons, or slabs when you were out?
