OCEANSIDE JETTY, W/PICS, 07/05

Went out to the jetty about 1030 am to try for some butts. Didn't expect much luck cause I haven ever fihed for them with atificials with any luck before. Had a few pick-ups on a Bass assasin black and silver, but couldn't bring them on home. But one finally fell for my tactics after a half hour of trying. probably measured 16-18" released him and tried for a bigger one. got this little bass, i think its a calico, and that was it for the day, oh except for this weight i caught. not bad for an hour in strange water.

At least you weren't stuck at work! My dad used to have a bumper sticker on the back of his truck that said "The worst day of fishing is better than the best day of work." I think that bass is a sandie.

thats like a boiler sandbass like a boiler calico, the colors are different due to being near so much kelp
