Default friday the 13th at the alamo

Hit up the alamo river friday night after work . First run came before I could even change out my work clothes(2 minutes) small fish that ate a big bait. Total for the night was four ,not bad for November . Had a lot of runs but this part of the alamo if you let it run to far your hung up. No big ones this time but the little guys were on the chew and it was a lot of fun. That's it for this year can't wait till spring!!!

The Alamo is a good river for flatheads. Lots of good flats roam that water and its closer too which is pretty cool. We had a few events this past spring with plenty of nice flats coming from that water from the 20's to 40 pounds weighed in. One thing you should note about the Mo is that it is not recommended for eating a lot of those flats due to the pesticides and such in the water. Definitely not eating the bigger ones that been in there for years. The best eating catfish( health wise) in the Imperial Valley canal wise come from the Coachella, All American, or the Highland as far as lack of contaminents. The New River is a no no at all for eating fish from. It is known as the worst contaminated water in the country flowing from Mexico. Good to go on those cats. Hope you can make some of our future cat events in the spring.

it's easy hwy 86 to Brawley.Map quest it and you'll see the rivers coming off the All American.Do a couple of recon trips to get familiar with the area so when you come back in the summer you'll be able to use your info gathered from your trips.
