Default Working BigHammers for Winter Bass

Yea I had a question about throwing a big hammer swimmie during winter time. Currently Im using a 6" rb pattern bait and have been told by a few to use a very slow retrieve.. Through personal experience, has this worked for you bass guys during this time ? The only thing I can think of is this might ruin the big hammers action but from the looks of it,looks fine. Still on the hunt for my first swimbait bass, hopefully this winter.

I assume you are using them for LMB's? A slow steady retrieve bumping the bottom or burning it will get you some fish. Lots better swimmies for LMB's out there, but not nearly as cheap. I like a 1oz jighead.

Yeah... 5in BH isn't exactly the best Largemouth bait. It'll definitely work on a slow bottom drag, but you'd have a better shot with something like a Huddleston Deluxe (6in or 8in) in ROF 5. A 3:16 Mission Fish (fish it just like a jig) or Rising Son (slow roll 1 or 3ft under the surface) wouldn't be a bad bet either if you want something even cheaper that catches a lot of LMB. Use a 1/2oz head.
