    Default Reel Ratios ?

Does anyone have a link or quick write up on Reel Ratios? As far as which is best for each scenario? 7:1, 6:3 etc... I am looking for an easy to read spreadsheet.

I want to learn as much as I can and increase my 'catching' odds.

    Thank you much!

    5.1:1 for shallow,med,deepdiving Crankbaits
    7.1:1 for buzzbaits,lipless crankbaits

What about for worms, plastics - t-rig, DS and flyline?

    What about small-med swimbaits?

    Thanks

all the above approaches do not require fast cranking, is more to do with rod action.
reel speed comes in to play with fast moving lures. and also trying to cover more water quickly.

    Default Well...........

Bass baitcasters are pretty simple just go by the ratio numbers as most of the reels have very similar sized spools but the spinning reels is a whole nother story if everybody here would just post the reel model and 1 turn of the handle retreive in inches it'd help everyone.

Thanks guys, I guess my next reel is going to be a 5:1 and should have everything covered.

6:1 would be a better all around gear ratio. 5 is a bit slow for a few of the moving applications. You'll be hurt more trying to burn on a slow ratio reel than trying to crank on a medium ratio reel.
