Default Flatties and friends!! Alamitos! 10/12!!

    Hey everyone!
Had the day off work today. got a call from Kevin last night wanting to hit up alamitos beach the next day with his son Kameron! So get up this morning and head over to norms to pickup some nice bait hooks and some pyramid sinkers for my 15ft surf rod. Get to the spot at 6:30 fished till 1:00.
water was surprisingly clear and calm. We find a good spot and setup..
I had some mackerel left over from my previous fishing trips so thought id use it up.. Set up my 15ft rod with a three way swival rig and the mack. used my other rod with the lc. oh! and all fish released to play another day!!!!!!
    long story short.
    me 4 halibut 14 and a half,17 and a half, 21 and a quarter, 20 and three quarter.

    awesome variety of fish!

how do you fish that mega? if i remember correctly they're pretty heavy, so do you just drag it along the bottom or do you reel it fast enough to keep it suspended?

Although gotta say, if it wasn't for your successful reports, i probably wouldn't invested in the LC lures.. So thanks,DUDE!

Yes, some can be heavy. But i mainly used it at the jetty's were water is deeper... This was my first time using it on the surf. I didn't want to drag it,so after the long cast, right when it hits the water i would start reeling at a good consistent speed then id pause for a sec, and so on...
