    Default SMB 42.6lb / 48" halibut Sunday 7/01/07 w/pix

Went out Sunday 7/1 on the Santa Monica Bay with my halibut partner Brandon to try and catch a nice halibut. Its been a few years since I fished for butts but Brandon insisted that we go look for a few keepers.

Stopped by Inseine for some nice dines and chatted with John. Went out and drifted north in about 30-70ft. No, zero, nada raked baits but at 11:30am picked up our 1 and only fish a 42.6 lb / 48" SMB butt.

Weighed it in at Larry's and ran home to cut that baby up.

Good job on the butt. All the hard work paid off for ya.

Today was the most boat traffic ive ever seen at MDR ramp and down to Palos Verdes
