The Conejo Kid scores again! THANK YOU SARL!

When we announced this event two weeks ago, I wasn't sure how many would be able to attend on such short notice, but it's obvious you guys KNOW A GOOD DEAL WHEN YOU SEE IT!

Donna, Brennan & I arrived early to make sure we got everyone checked in so they could take advantage of the exclusive TEAM 57 special "early entry" that was part of TEAM 57 "Appreciation Day" at Santa Ana River Lakes.....

While everyone was getting checked in...... Eddie walked up with a customized pumpkin that had the TEAM 57 LOGO ON IT! COOL!

We didnt get a whole lot of time to take pics before the sun went down......... but there were Team 57 members parked everywhere!





The Conejo Kid was hooking up early & often!



Since SARL was doing most all of the cooking.... I had a moment to sit and have a cold one with, Sansou and his daughter (she had a cold soft drink )........ Wingnut, Bullets and Maverick.......



Team 57 Legend "DoctorHook" showed up and immediatly started manning the grill!.... Thanks Art!........ Art cooked up some delicious yellowtail that had been brought by Sansou!



Thanks to "Mike" from Santa Ana River Lakes for working the grill most all of the night! I appreciate your hard work Mike!......

A BIG THANK YOU to the folks at SARL for adding in all the condiments, potato salad & macaroni salad and all the other extras! Totally unexpected!

While Donna & I were getting the "Conejo Kid" some grub..... my cell rings, and its THE KID!........... "DANA, I JUST CAUGHT ONE" !!!!!!!! AWESOME!



Needless to say........ the kid had a great night until lack of sleep forced him to "retire" early.. but still a good night of fishing!

Sensing a "star" being born....... Wingnut & I asked the Conejo Kid for a photo op and he agreed!



Then James from Fusion drops by and sees the Conejo Kid....... having never had a real opportunity to have a photo with him..... he also asks "The Kid" for a photo op and the kid agrees! LOL!



The "Kid" get a few pointers from............. the "Reel Deal".........



I tried sneaking up on these two to get a few pointers.......... but the kid caught me....



Even my girl Donna scored a cat! She never gets to fish as much as she'd like!



All in all it was a great night............

I REALLY ENJOYED MEETING ALL THE NEW MEMBERS AND HOPE YOU WILL ALL COME OUT AGAIN TO THE NEXT TEAM 57 EVENT!

We gave out about 30 FREE Team 57 t-shirts! (a few more than I had promised)....... had some great food and spent time with "family & friends"....... a perfect night!

I think most everyone had fish and I KNOW they certainly had a good time and got a great deal!.. we'll be doing it again soon!

Great report Dana I had a blast meeting you, cant wait for the next event. I had so much fun not only fishing WHICH WAS GREAT for some and good for others. I believe most caught fish I was lucky to have the hot spot but the whole shore was the hot spot for fun nice meeting you, WINGNUT, THE SCCA GUYS MEGAFISHER ,TSHAFFER and all other familar faces.

Thank you Dana for setting up this event! By far my best fishing experience at SARL and a night I will remember for a very long time. Hopefully there's another event like this during trout season... Awesome job on those tilapia conejo kid! I couldn't hook those things for the life of me!

Thanks also SARL for the great spread, and to "Mike" who always goes the extra mile for us. Special thanks from me to Dr. Hook for immediately volunteering to cook the batch of yellowtail I brought.....I have no problem bringing fish, it's just that I hate BBQing. I tend to burn stuff anyways.

It was a pleasure meeting FNNers I've yet to meet....the SCCA family (crazy catfish stories! wow!), Maverick, Man to Wild (sp?), and some brand new members that signed up just that night for the event. If I missed any names, I'm sorry!

My daughter had a great time playing with Troutdog's daughter, and asked me on the way home when we get to go to camping again at the next "party"! It makes me happy she really enjoyed herself.

Dana thanks for setting up another great event at Sarl, always a blast when Team57 takes over Chris's pond. The bbq that was set up for us was a great, top it off by Doctorhook grilling up the yt Sansou brought and we had quite the spread!

Great to see the Conejo Kid riding the streak from Zuma to Sarl, the kid is ON FIRE!!!!

It was fun hanging out with all my Team 57 friends and meeting a few new ones too. It was fun to fish with the Conejo Kid and baiting his hooks. The kid can outright fish!!! Another fun event Dana, thanks for putting together another winner.
