    Default The Jewel 9/22

Hit up DVL this morning to do some shore fishing. 8am late start, hangover didn't help -__- last time I fished the east dam side and caught a bunch of dinks so this time I fished the shoreline west of the boat dock. First 2 bass on t-rigged watermelon brush hogs in the grass. Nothing but some short bites for the next 30 mins so decided to take a hike further down the cove and saw bass boiling like crazy about 1/4 mile away. Knew it wouldn't last long so I tied on a shad colored crank and RAN over to them in the 110 degree heat. Caught a fat 3lber on my first cast then of course the boils stopped. Schools of 5 or 6 bass cruising the shorelines and following my crank but no takers. Saw some nicer ones mixed in with the 1-2lbers. Got too hot so left around 11. Spent half my time hiking in the heat but it was worth it. Anyone wanna split a boat rental next week on Weds or Thurs?

Nothing like getting stopped on the grind...

Looks like an awsome morning of shore fishing at the Jewel. Thanks for the report.
