Any echo park advice for bass

So the wife only lets out to play once a month. I live close to this pond and I've heard legends of the bass that live here. Anyone have any advice on how to catch them? Is even worth my time to try? Im always itching to fish so let me know.

I fished there Monday morning for about an hour and caught one bass using a 4in. Senko. There should be bass everywhere but I caught this bass near where the old lotus pad used to be. I here people fish at night for the lunkers but I don't know if the area is safe.
