Thread: What rod for a Shimano Calcutta TE 200 reel

Default What rod for a Shimano Calcutta TE 200 reel

I just bought a Calcutta Te 200 reel. Its gonna be used for bass fishing, striper fishing and some 1/2 day party boat saltwater. Any suggestion on a good Rod to pair it with. Definitely like St Croix and Loomis but some many choices its hard to find the best fit.

    What do you guys think??

    Thanks

What type of bass fishing? For 1/2 days, I would recommend a G.Loomis Greenwater or ProBlue rod.

It would be my heavier gear for Largemouth bass. I would want it to be able to throw plugs for striper and light saltwater 1/2 day-3/4 day boats saltwater.

Hope for a heavy freshwater pole that can handle light saltwater action.

    Thanks

bah.. 7' clarus med heavy fast action. seeing as it might get beat up on the party boats. not an expensive rod for 100 bucks but i have an 8'6" clarus and its really sensitive.

I have a Rick Clunn swimbait rod that I purchased at BSP. Works great paired with a calcutta and was great on the boats this summer. Right around 100 bucks too so boat wear and tear wasn't too much of a heartbreaker
