    Default Tradition 8/2/09

Fished the Tradition once again yesterday. Our crew today would consist of Captain Stevo, Debo in the galley, and Morgon and John on deck. With the good fishing we had the day before, we headed on down the line again. We all settled in for the ride, and soon, we arrived at the fishing grounds.

We drove around for a little bit, and stopped when the scattered marks Stevo saw on the meter turned solid. We immediately started catching some nice bass on anchovies as well as plastics. Again, the lower profile plastics that were something close to an anchovy color were working very well. For a while, it was a steady pick, with occasional flurries. The bass became less eager to eat the plastic, but an anchovy pinned onto a leadhead worked very well for a while. These bass were mostly a nicer grade, with only a few shorts and barely legals. After a good long set, the bite diminished, and we moved on in search for more.

We made a couple more stops for a few more bass. Conditions rolled over or something, and the bass were nowhere to be found. I managed to catch a short halibut and one of those stops. After a while, we headed on home. I believe we got over 100 bass and some barracuda. Great times, great fishing!

    Hi Jackpot Jimmy,

Thanks for the great report. Big patrons-numbers scaring me away for now unlesss it's club fishing day !!

Ghetto dad said it so well .... when the big boys show up .... the migration is not long for this world. I am hoping the cuda bite shuts down so we'll have some peace to fish the Bass.

Be careful what you wish for....LOL...

I remember fishing the spawn last year and the bass did seem bigger to me this year. Even in the beginning of the "season"
