    Default Limits of Calicos @ LJ Kelp Beds 6/28

    Decided at the last minute to go out on the Chubasco 2 for a 3/4 day run to LJ Kelp Beds.
    First thing I noticed when I got to the boat was that there were only 7 other guys and this was Sunday??

    Ernie had the day off so Captain Trevor took us to the same area which has been producing limit style bass fishing this week. Same thing held true. The bigger calicos were being caught on the plastics with the rest settling for the anchovies. The bait really sucked again today but that didn't matter as the bass still were on the chew.

    Another beautiful sunny day with calm conditions. Going out again Tuesday for the 1/2 day special: 9-4 for $42.

    Boat total:

    8 anglers
    80 calico bass
    10 barracuda
    2 rockfish

    My count:
    10 calicos
    No yellowtail seen until we left when we saw some puddlers
