Thread: Lake kaweah crappie

    Default Lake kaweah crappie

The crappie at kaweah are biting real talk. I been going the last 3 weeks and its pretty easy to get your 25 limit as long as you have small live minnow. The lake is at 100% and crappie can be found in any of the thousands of submerged trees. The key is getting there early because at about 10:00 a.m., they stop. During the heat of the day it seems hit or miss, more times you hit. The best thing about it all is that you don't need a boat but you would probaly have to walk a little to get to the best trees. Fishing from a boat all the crappie that i catch are within casting distance from shore. Most crappie are half pound but occasionally i would catch a pounder. Sorry i have no pics but i just wanted to get the info out there.
