Default Im not a hardcore fisherman

    Hey guys, whats up?
I just wanted to re-introduce myself and say the following:

I always fish with my girlfriend, she is my fishing gal.

I dont care what people think of me if i fish spinning on a boat on the ocean. According to someone they will target me as a newbie.

Im not a hardcore fisherman. I do this to have fun/relax with my girl.

If i we dont catch a thing, we still loved the wilderness/nature.

I dont care if people on the boat think im a newbie on a boat because i am.

I only fish about 20 times a year if that for now.

    I suck at fishing.

I bow down to those who cast well with a casting reel, but im learning.

    Im Eddie C.

Ok, I must comment on your "spinning gear" comment homie,,,lil ghetto story for you....

My brother in law, who has been fishing with me for years now, started fishing on the boats with me about 10 years ago....he too, was hard headed and told me many times "Man, i can catch ANYTHING you can catch on your conventional with my spinning reel....shoot!"

Well, one day, I chartered the Aztec to fish Catalina Island, specifically Farnsworth Bank, for yellows. We arrived at the Bank, and for those of you who have fished the bank, you KNOW how mean these fish are! We dropped the anchor, and started fishing the yo yo. I was in the bow, and he was in the stern, with his SPINNER! "Hook up!!!!!!!!!!!!!" My brother in law was ON SOLID..for about 5 seconds...he hooked the fish, got to pull up ONCE, and after that, the fish ran to the high spot full speed...and within SECONDS, his spinning reel literally SHATTERED into pieces!!!! When this happened, he didnt think about the reel, the fish he lost, all he was worried about was looking towards the bow to see if I had just witnessed that....LMAO!!! I was laughing so hard, i was literally CRYING!!!!!!!! I ended up with 3 for 5 hookups, fishing 50 lb....

Needless to say, he has since graduated to quality conventional gear...some of my boyz know who this is "RON", my brutha in law....
